Adam Meyer was born and raised in Eastern North Carolina, and started sailing when he was six years old. That started a love affair with boats that he has carried with him ever since. Adam raced Hobie Cats competitively in high school, and later started the sailing team while attending Wake Forest University. He completed numerous bluewater sailboat deliveries throughout college and into his law school days, logging over 25,000 offshore miles taking boats to the Caribbean. Upon graduation from the Wake Forest University School of Law in 1996, Adam started his marine insurance career in Cincinnati as a Marine Loss Control Specialist with St. Paul Fire & Marine. The training he received over the next two years spanned the gamut from Shipboard Firefighting School to on-board Bargeman training on the river systems of the United States. This training gained him a chair in Chicago as an Ocean Marine Underwriter for St. Paul / Travelers, a position he enjoyed for several years, specializing in Mega Yacht and Commercial Marine underwriting. In 2000, Adam moved back home to North Carolina, to start work on the Agency side of the niche as a Producer of Marine Insurance. Since that time, Adam has gained an impeccable reputation as "the authentic go-to guy" for marine insurance in the SE region, serving the needs of thousands of recreational and commercial boaters over these many years. His particular areas of expertise include Mega Yacht/Sportfish and Charter/Guide/Inspected Vessels, as well as all types and sizes of recreational marine vessels. When not in the office or out walking the docks in Wrightsville Beach, he can be found spending quality time with his family, reading, working in his woodshop, and attempting to pass himself off as a successful inshore and surf fisherman.

Our customer-first approach has helped our team of experienced marine insurance professionals to establish trusted relationships with those we serve. Here’s what they have to say about Maritime Insurance International:
We moved our accounts to Maritime Insurance International just over two years ago. Since that time, we have experienced a material reduction in our premium outlay AND have significantly enhanced coverage; including adding some coverages we were previously told were unavailable. I couldn’t be happier!
For a number of years we had been with the same carrier and we were told that was the best market for one of our dry stacks. Within 5 minutes of meeting with Maritime Insurance International, they assured me they had a market that would enhance my coverage and lower my premium; they came through on both fronts. Since that time we have been working towards consolidating our numerous accounts with them.
We began using Maritime Insurance International several years ago for our boatyard and repair facility. What we have received from this relationship is a very easy quote and renewal process, a variety of options, and most importantly a significant decrease in our premiums!
It has been a pleasure working with Maritime Insurance International and Garrison Rudisill. Garrison has always gone the extra mile to make sure all my needs are taken care of as quickly and economically as possible. I have and will continue to recommend this team to all my boating friends.
